Unfortunately, regardless of their common characteristic as being easy-going and good-natured, black cats are often times passed over by potential adopters, never having the opportunity to show people how perfectly they would fit into a family’s household. Sometimes it’s superstition and urban myths that prevent a person from giving a black cat a good home. Other times, it’s the calico or orange tabby that catches their eye.
Whatever the reason, black cats on average, stay several months longer than any other colored cat. So the next time you’re thinking about adopting a cat, consider meeting a black cat. We’re certain their playful, easy-going attitude will charm you into making them a new member of your family.

This Angel Needs a Guardian Angel l is one of two black cats remaining from a rescue of 57 cats over one year ago. Angel was very sick, almost bald and quite shy when we first rescued him but now he is a mere "shadow of his former self" (black cat humor). The hairloss was attributed the stressful environment so he needs a fairly calm home so he won't overgroom. He gets along well with other cats but 56 others, that was a little much. |

Sorry Charlie! That's what this little 7 month old kitty has been hearing for a while. Yes, this former stray has had a rough start in life and yes, he's a little shy, but he has extra toes, he rolls over to have his belly rubbed, and he loves to play with the feathers-on-a-stick toy. Now, how many Charlie's do you know that fit that description? By-the-way, Charlie likes other cats so you may want to adopt Angel, as well. Speaking from a man's point of view, who wouldn't want a "Charlie's Angel" living with you? |

Feeling a Little Tipsy?Well, you should be! This big and beautiful kitty loves attention. Tipsy is the other remainig black kitty from the 57 cat rescue that took place just over a year ago. Tipsy suffered from head trauma that caused damage to ear drum.and surgery couldn't repair the damage. So, Tipsy has a permanent head tilt but that's ok because he has a different way of looking at things to begin with. |

Rookie of the YearRookie was stuffed in a box and left on our doorstep last August. If he stays here much longer we will have to change his name to "Veteran". |

Princess Without a ThroneMajee came to us as a stray. She was very shy and quite fearful of people but with a lot of work she is becoming more trusting everyday. Majee loves other cats and has a very "Princess" type attitude. She even waves funny. |

Diddy or Didn't He?Well, he didn't..... get adopted that is. And that's a shame because he is one of the nicest, well behaved cats that you will ever meet. Hopefully, that "meet" will take place soon because Diddy needs a Daddy.....or a Mommy....or both. He is a very relaxed kitty that seems to provide a calming effect to those around him. Diddy is patiently waiting to meet you. In fact, if he was any more "patient", he'd have to live with a doctor or a nurse. |
