We Changed Their Luck

« back to news Due to an overabundance of black cats this year and the fact that they are the most difficult to adopt out, the Suncoast Animal League held a Black Cat Adoptathon Weekend which began on Friday, July13th (FRIDAY the 13th). The event was held at Countryside PetsMart and was a huge success as we adopted out twenty-three black cats. Among those adopted was Jag, who had been here for months after being rescued from a hoarder. Our greatest adoption of the weekend was Raven, whose number was C0007 and had been with us since we opened December 2nd, 2006.

Our “Change Their Luck, Adopt a Black Cat” t – shirts (pictured) with the 13 reasons to adopt a black cat were a big hit. We have a few shirts still available for, what else, $13. Please contact the shelter if you would like to purchase a shirt.
