Bella

We came to Suncoast to just look around. Instead, we were lucky enough to be there just as Bella became available. We took one look and it was instant love at first sight. She is a sweet, affectionate dog, smart as...well, as a Beagle. We had to wait a day or two so she could get spayed and then we brought her home. She is very active and is in need of a lot of training. Since she is only 9 months old, and we are an older couple, she sometimes seems like more than we can handle, but don't let that fool you. The only way you'd get Bella away from us would be at gunpoint.

She's doing well. We are coming to terms with both her schedule and ours and as a result her potty training is coming along. She still wants to chew up everything in sight but "they" tell us she'll outgrow that. Probably will happen when no furniture is left without teeth marks.

She is very friendly and sweet but is absolutely fearless. She has made friends with every dog on the block from a Jack Russell to a huge Bull Mastiff, not to mention every kid knows her by name.

July 2008 Update:

Just a thought to your potential adoptors:
As one grows older, sometimes problems such as finances, health, medicines, etc. seem to prey upon one's mind. In our case since we've had Bella, she's taken the focus off of our problems and allowed us to be entertained as we train her and distracted so that we don't focus on our problems so much. Not to mention giving us another "child" to love. Here she is, guarding her toys, daring us to try to snatch one away.
