Cookie
Hello Friends of the League!
Lost and alone and with a new litter of kittens, Cookie came to the Suncoast Animal League when some good Samaritans brought her and her babies into the shelter. Mom and kittens were safe and cared for until the little ones were weaned and ready for adoption several weeks later. At the same time as Cookie's babies were weaned, another litter of newborn kittens arrived at the shelter -- without their mother.
Cookie accepted the new litter of motherless kittens. Unfortunately, they arrived too late - and did not survive, despite the best efforts of both Cookie and the staff at the shelter. They just did not get to the shelter soon enough.
Weak from her mothering efforts Cookie needed a foster home, and that's how she ended up at my house! As Cookie became stronger, she showed herself to be a sweet, well-mannered, fun, and highly intelligent cat. We got along famously, and our personalities were a perfect match! I knew I couldn't give her up so I adopted her in August of 2007. Cookie is a great addition to my home and family!
Thanks to the Suncoast Animal League and their hardworking and dedicated staff and volunteers for making our lives much, much, happier!
Thank you,
A. Bowman
