Jack

Jack was only 1-2 weeks old when he was found with his mom and 4 siblings in a New Port Richey backyard. Jessica, his mom, gave birth in the yard and although she seemed healthy, she was skin and bones. The family needed to be fostered so the day before my birthday I brought them home where they lived for the next two months. What a blessing this family was and a great birthday present. I vowed not to personally adopt any of the cats since our home was already bursting with pets. We slowly found homes for each ball of fur- and Jack was the first to be claimed! I fell head over heels for Jack. He was a bright orange Jack-O-Lantern and was simply beautiful. I was grateful to have found a home for him first, since I know that he would have been the hardest for me to resist.

Jessica slowly gained weight and she was the most loving mom I had ever met. I fell in love with her too. The weeks turned into months and soon the kids were ready to go to their new families. Each family promised to spoil them rotten and the gal who took the little grey tabby also adopted momma cat. At the last minute Jacks new family decided they couldn't take him. I made a very lame attempt to place him in another home and soon he decided his place was in our home. He loved my other cats and dogs and had me completely wrapped around his paw.

That was six months ago. Jack is a perfect orange ray of sunshine as he runs, plays and sleeps in his new home. He has his mother's beautiful green eyes. He is not going anywhere….Jack is here to stay.
