"Adorabelle"
Hi! My name is Adorabelle. Adora is Latin-American meaning "treasure, gift of God" and my foster Mom truly considers me to be both. My foster Mom had tried many names that I just didn't respond to, but when she called me "Adora" it just fit and I wagged my tail!
I'm approximately two years old and the vets say I have had numerous litters of puppies. When I was removed from the "that place", I couldn't walk, as my left knee is permanently dislocated. My right knee isn't healthy either and the orthopedic vet my foster Mom took me to said I have the worst case of petellular dislocation he had ever seen. They tell me a petalla is a knee cap and because it's dislocated it slips in and out of place, which hurts sometimes. It's a good thing I'm getting regular medical attention now. I'm already feeling much better.
I also had an ear infection, a skin infection (even though I had been shaved), an infection between my paws (from walking on the wire cage), tapeworms, and infected glands in my bottom. I was one of the lucky puppies though because I have all my teeth, but they'll need to be cleaned soon before I start having problems.
Since I've come to live with my foster Mom, I've come out of my shell. I'm now happy and my foster Mom makes sure I exercise every day so my walking improves. I have to say though, I love to exercise, but not on that leash! My foster Mom says I'm becoming more and more "sassy" everyday. I love chasing my kitty housemates, but I must admit they are a bit boring because they don't chase me back. When I'm not chasing those kitties, I work with Mom in her home office as her assistant and play with as many people and other dogs as possible.
My foster Mom has showed me a whole new, exciting and fun world, and I'm so thankful to her for taking such good care of me! Who knew life could be so great! I really hope the courts will allow me to be adopted by my foster Mom, who loves me and takes such good care of me. I'm feeling better than I ever have and she's even told me that in September, I'm scheduled to have my knees surgically repaired so I can walk properly and live a "fairy-tail" ending! Wish me luck!
Thank you Suncoast Animal League for rescuing me!
