Animal Rescue - George

Laura & "George"

Hello, my name is George. I was rescued from some pretty horrible conditions and brought to Suncoast Animal League. I was diagnosed with severe neurological and cardiovascular problems, and was eventually fostered by one of the League's employees, Laura. I've been to the vet several times since I was rescued. They were trying to figure out what happened to me and how they can reverse the effects and make me feel better.

They finally decided my neurological and cardiovascular problems were caused by my rotting teeth and gums. Because I wasn't given proper medical care in my former home at the puppy mill, I developed a severe gum infection, which led to my heart and nervous system. They're pretty sure it's too late to make my situation better, but everyone is doing what they can to make me feel comfortable and happy, especially my foster mom Auntie Laura.

With the help of my foster mom, I have made a little progress. Although I am quite unsteady, I can stand up by myself now and sometimes even walk around. She cooks me chicken and salmon, which have quickly become my favorite foods! I am learning to bond with a human being for the first time in my life, and I like it a lot. I will even bark to get her attention! Even her two cats are being nice to me!

Although I cannot walk, run, and play like a "normal" dog, my foster mom loves me for who I am. I am so happy to be out of that awful house and into a loving home.
