Animal Rescue - Miss Daisy

Carly & "Miss Daisy"

Miss Daisy is an energizer bunny type dog, only she is very timid and shy. She is constantly on the move, exploring, smelling and investigating her new environment. Acting like a dog which has had very little interaction with humans, she scampers away when people try to get too close, and crouches close to the ground when approached to be picked up to go outside.

She is learning to love lap-sitting time, but plays "hard to get" as if she just isn't sure what will happen to her if she gives in.

When outside, she loves stretching out in the grass, but won't get near any concrete areas. When I brought her home to foster, she was extremely bony and her spine and ribs protruded through her shaved coat. Now that she has a separate food bowl and no competition for eating, she is starting to fill in a bit.

She is just starting to learn what dog toys are for. She is fun to watch as she drags toys to her bed and tries to bury them. Helping her learn to play like a dog and not be so fearful of people is a very, very rewarding experience.
